Public Sector Example: Government Services For Major City

A WTO member’s national capital has many hundreds of buildings and an extensive city services infrastructure.   The challenge is to monitor and control the broadly distributed technologies that operate the buildings as well as provide basic access control and surveillance for the buildings.  In some cases, tenant access control, intrusion detection, and surveillance services are also supplied. 

EnterpriseSMS® provides this service with alacrity.  Events are displayed graphically and an alarm window.  Synchronized video, alarm and remote control functions are presented as operators select events to process.  This is accomplished in a regional command center that supports the world class city’s federal operations.

• Approximately 300 buildings spread across the national capital region.

• Three Command Stations in its command center monitor and control the system on a 7 x 24 hour basis.  Multiple command stations in multiple command centers operate in parallel.  They provide redundant control over the system. 

• Approximately 300 access panels are controlled by the system.

• Approximately 2500 credential readers expanding with additional buildings.

• Multiple access control panel manufacturers are a part of this system.

• Approximately 2500 identities and credentials are a part of the core system.

• Multiple hundreds of cameras are a part of this system.

 

Intrusion Detection and Facility Condition Monitoring:   

Intrusion detection and monitoring of many additional sensors that monitor many aspects of each facility are a part of the solution.  Many building functions are also controlled through this system.

Access Control At All Locations:  

A comprehensive access control system is provided including extensive special access processes.  This project utilizes a relatively basic access control process where 3rd party panels are integrated into a distributed solution.

Identity Management:

A complete identity enrollment, credential production, and visitor management function is part of this process.

Multiple Command Stations: 

Multiple command stations operate in parallel.  They provide redundant control over the system.  This is used at vehicle gates and special access points where human supervision is required as well as monitoring the system.
